Safe and Secure

When I hear the words Safe and Secure,
it automatically reminds me of the hymn I grew up on...
Standing on the Promises.
...'safe and secure from all alarm'...
But in all the craziness around here,
this is what I came up with for the FFF #4 challenge.
Home offers a lot of security.
Inside that home, snuggling up on a comfy couch is pretty inviting.
I know you have to get off that couch and step into the real world too.

I love how my big geen comfy couch turned out.
I used paints and copic markers.
Though I am no expert using those markers.
I am learning as I go.
The first one I did (below)
immediately after the challenge had been issued.
I journaled my thoughts on security on the page first
then smeared it around with NeocolorII crayons and paint.
The bubbles appeared,
and living in a bubble seems like a safe place.
Though bubbles can be fragile and pop.

Artistically, I like how my bubble page turned out.
I like the hidden journaling and the layers.

My Daily

Time to catch up.

Happy Birthday to my husband!

My Thanksgiving pages. Unfortunately I was sick over the holiday.

 It was a lazy Saturday.
Home from travels.
Starting to get over my sinus infection.
Getting ready to think about Christmas.

Have a great week everyone.

I Spy....

I Spy, With my little eye....
Spiderman!
Do you see him there?
When I walked into the local Dollar Store in September
and bought one of these spiderman erasers...
I laughed.
Then when I got home and looked at my receipt and saw
 it was only 37 cents...
I went back up there and bought the rest!
And laughed all the way home!
Especially now that I have a lino-cutter.
What Fun!
Spidey carves really well!
And the best thing about yesterday afternoon
was spending it with my sweet daughter in law.
We carved stamps and did art together!
And she wants art supplies for Christmas!
(swoon)
She carved a tree stamp for her Christmas cards...
and the word love.

Life is good!

Quilts

I want to share some Customer Quilts I have completed recently.
I have a dear local gal who makes quilts and gives them to her family members.
She has this wonderful eye for color and fabric...

Quilt number One.
I think the pattern is called Dot Party by Jaybird Quilts.

Quilt number Two.
Don't know the name of this pattern.

Quilt number Three.
Again, don't know the name of this.
I just quilt them, I don't make them!

And Quilt number Four.
It is a snowball pattern.

Beautiful quilts from a beautiful soul.
I have quilted Many Wool Applique quilts this year
and it is a nice change of pace to work on cotton ones.

Enjoy!

Art Journal Every Day

Currently, in the back pages of my Daily,
I am still playing with black and white.
I recently purchased a lino-cutter
and I carved a chair stamp.
Just to see if I could.

This week in my Daily I went a little bright and graphic.
I was inspired by a quilt block on a business card I dug up.

 Have a good weekend everyone.
Do something Creative!
