Happenings

The Earth and Twig BOM with feather quilting is my new favorite.

I am all caught up on customer quilts.
Just in time to take off for a little reunion/retreat.
A much needed vacation!
On to my Daily.....

Happy Anniversary to my kids. They eloped a few years back! Now there is a story!

My sweet daughter in law. Happy Birthday!

See you in a couple weeks!

Recent Quilts

I have been very busy these last few weeks.....

It's Block of the Month (BOM) time once again.
This is from Sue Spargo's BOM program and it is named Earth & Twig.
Aren't they lovely?
These are customer quilts, and if I have 2 in my studio at the same time,
I load them together by stitching the backings to each other.

Same... but Different.

This is a local customer I have who seems to give away every quilt she makes.
She has a huge heart and is a wonderful, sweet lady.
I really enjoy quilting feathers.

And then my last 2 customer BOM's before I leave on retreat....
Here they are in progress.

Carol replaced a cat for the eagle. A very personal touch!

A real 'cotton tail'!

I love this crow!

Some of the embellishments will be hard to quilt around!
This next one will be started today.
When I am done with the periwinkle colored thread on Carol's,
I will roll the quilt forward to the next backing
and begin the same periwinkle on this one.
I will go back and forth with the different thread colors
until they are both complete.
Because Tanya's BOM has simpler embellishments...
and I love to do feather quilting....
I think I might try to include feathers in her background.
Hmmmm...... we'll see.
Happy Spring!!!!

Truth Cards

My Brave Girl's from June 2012
are having a truth card exchange.
It's a wonderful way to keep us connected.
A wonderful way to share the innermost parts of ourselves.
I love my Brave Girl Family.
We started sending one a month In March.
Michelle sent this to me...
What a sweet little birdy and a sweet little sentiment.
I was totally blown away. Totally melted.
I propped it up on my counter and smiled every time I looked at it.
I wanted to keep it close to my heart.
I copied it on a page in the back of my Daily
so I could always look back and smile.
It's part of my March 2013 history.

Thank you sweet Michelle.
(insert heart here)
I love having a piece of her art....
And a piece of her heart.

Then came April.
Oh how sweet to get this little girl in the mail!
What an encouragement!
I am so in love with her.
I had to put her in my Daily too.
Thank You Cindy,
for this darling piece of art from your heart.

It will be a fun year.
About half of us are having a reunion at the end of the month.
What a joyful, creative time we will have.

Thank you Brave Girls for all the encouragement.
