Stencil Blog Hop

It's my turn on this Stencil Hop!
So I gathered my supplies.
Today we are featuring:
Crossed Rounds & Squares Stencil L159
Artist Designer - Andrew Borloz
I needed a new Daily cover!
It is the perfect opportunity to show texture and depth
with this versatile stencil design.
I started by taking the stencil
and pressing Matte Heavy Gel through parts of it.
I was selective.
I wanted texture but it didn't have to be perfect.
I painted gesso over the whole thing for a better surface.
I mod podged papers and doilies and scraps onto this.

I made a number 9 with Tulip brand Dimensional Glitter paint.
I like it because it comes in a squeeze tube, is easy to use, and it dries pliable.
Even though the paint has totally dried and the surface has been spray varnished,
I can still stick my thumbnail in it and squish it down just a little bit.
It is tactile.
I Love using it.
I am a dork like that :)

For just a little more depth
I selectively put white acrylic paint through some of the stencil's elements.
They will stand out totally different than the rest.
I spread paint around...
Dripped some inks here and there...
Highlighted here and there with yellow and lime green...
Played some more....

Used Neocolor II Crayons to highlight more of the doily texture...
And played until I felt it was done.
I love my Daily!

Earlier this week I also used this stencil inside my pages.
It makes a great border!
