Let's Be Real....

***knock knock***
Is this the room Craft Hoarder's Anonymous is meeting?
Thanks. Can I come in?
Hello. My name is Janet and I am a Craft Hoarder.
I can't help myself.
I store things for a rainy day.
I collect things.
I Like STUFF.
I might need it someday.
What if my green marker ran dry?
I would need another just like it.
I am a craft hoarder.
If I have 10 rolls of washi tape, I am sure 20 rolls would be better.

Of course I need that scrap of paper.
Of course I have six different kinds of glue.

 I make messes.
I use it all.
I know where everything is...mostly.
I go through parts of it once in awhile...
just to see what I have.
It's always a nice surprise when I open that red drawer
and find exactly what I need for a project!
There are calm spots in the midst of it all.
Moments of Ahhhh....
I have to have a big room because I have so many interests.

I am organized...Really I am.

I DO finish a lot of projects. Really I do.

All kidding aside.....
This peak into my workspace is in anticipation of a StencilGirl Hop coming up!
Join me Monday and all week long as the StencilGirl Creative Team joins
Craft Hoarders Anonymous to show some great projects....
Some great Messy projects!

Till then, Happy Arting!

Daily on Retreat (part 1)

 Hello Creative People!
We have had a beautiful October here in Ohio.
Mild temps in the 60's and 70's mostly.
There have been some cooler, gray days....
but it has been a nice mild October and I will not complain!

I wanted to do another of Mary Nasser's Compass Stencil.
I wished I had had it when traveling in September....
I like this green and orange color combo.

I traveled north a ways to spend some time
in a cabin with 7 of my quilting friends.
It was great fun.

I did my share of sewing but still fit in my Daily art.
In the four and a half days of sewing I pieced 15 baby quilt tops
and sewed 4 Dear Jane blocks.

It was wonderful!

We had a large and bright sewing room.
The place is called
if you are looking for something similar.

I'll be back tomorrow to finish up my retreat week.
Till then.... xoxo

Reorganization

While shopping at a big name craft store last week
I came across an organizational rolling cart on sale.

There were places for pens and markers
and rods for paper towels and tapes.

My daughter helped me move things around and throw things out.
I re-purposed this metal tray to hold all my stencils from StencilGirl.

Now they are within easy reach of my rolling chair.
I am happy!
We threw away 6 grocery sacks worth of extra stuff!
No. I am not a hoarder.
I still have a LOT of Stuff...
but now it is a little more organized and a lot more convenient.

I love my new cart!

Time to get to work!

Stuff Everywhere

Maria McGuire over at  Believe Dream Create
posted her workspace on her blog this morning.
It makes me love her even more!
She is a dear, dear friend of mine.
I am president of her fan club because she is so awesome!
It inspired me to immediately drop everything
and take photos of my own mess.

I eat a lot of Chobani Greek Yogurt!
The lids are a wonderful paint palette

So there is my workspace this morning.

Take a moment this weekend
and remember those who gave us our freedoms.
Be thankful.

Happy Memorial Day to everyone.

The Weekend Daily

I worked hard last week getting ready for company.
My side of the family has always celebrated Christmas
 over a whole weekend's timespan.
Usually whatever weekend in December that works for everyone.
It's been great to spread the holiday out a little.

In my art journaling,
I basically use whatever I have on hand.
Granted, the longer I do this, the more supplies I collect.
And then I forget what I have!
But I wanted to use these Christmas stamps from SU
that I have collected over the years.
Isn't Santa just darling?
I {heart} him!
I love this color combination too!
It's not one I have used before.

It was fun to go to Sue Spargo's this month.
She has been traveling so much that we've missed a few months this year.
She moved into an office space just this weekend.
The place has so much potential
and I know it will be fabulous the next time we go in February!

I changed my art room around...
since I needed to clean up anyways for guests last weekend.
My table is closer to the window,
which is great for natural light.
But I find myself staring out the window a little more often.
Oh well!
I look out at a meadow-like grassy area.
And the driveway.
We often see wildlife such as deer or fox or coyotes...
as well as cats and dogs.
I live out in the middle of nowhere after all!
It's what you would expect to see!

My front view looking north.

Looking south to the rest of my work room.
Is everyone ready for Christmas?
I am..... almost!
Cheers!
