Daily

 Hello!

I have watched the corn patch along my driveway......
Since my husband got on his tractor
with his newly refurbished corn planter....
Watched the seeds as they grew
from sprouts to their present height of 8 feet or so....
And I knew somewhere along the way I would include them in a Daily page.

No. You are not seeing double!
I used the same door stencil on two seperate pages
(which will be explained later this month).

Happy September.
The nights are much cooler
while the days stay warm but not too hot.
The goldenrod and wildflowers abound out in the meadow.
The cicadas are still singing.
The daylight hours are shortening.
Autumn is almost upon us!

 Happy Arting to you all!

  2. Janet,
I recently discovered happyreminders and I am a HUGE fan of your work. I would love to try to do something like this but have never been very artistic. I'd really have no idea where to start. I've got a nice supply of sharpie markers but that's about it. Have you ever thought about making a youtube video showing how you do one of your pages? I would be your number one fan on youtube! Until then I will keep checking in here, keep up the beautiful work!

    1. Gosh PD! Those are really kind words. Thank you so much! YouTube? Maybe Some Day. Not in my near future though. Too many irons in the fire. I am putting together some material to teach a local class though. An in person class....not an online class. Look back at my 'Anatomy of a Page' post. I go through a step by step (kind of....) of a spread from this summer. Thanks again. Just do art every day! Thats important!

  3. I am really enjoying your pages! You have inspired me and I have learned so much from you, but still have a long way to go when it come to design. I really like you color combinations. You are so talented.
    Blessings,

  5. Janet, Are you using a Moleskin? I have been looking for a journal that had heavy enough paper where my markers won't bleed through.I have not tried a moleskin because I wasn't sure if the paper was heavy enough, I think they are 70-80 lb paper. It has been my experience that Sharpie marker bleed though just about everything. So do you use any of them? I do have other ones I use. Thanks!
    Have a blessed day!

    1. Hi Sharon, I AM using a moleskine....but maybe not for long. Molekine's from several years ago seem to be alot better quality than the ones they sell nowadays. Somewhere along the way they changed. I have a Strathmore Art Journal ABOUT the same size as my present moleskine that I will be trying in a few months...when I use my molekine's up. The Strathmore is from the 400 Series with 48 pages at 140 lb. Definitely thicker quality paper than the M. I tried both a Sharpie Marker and a Copic Marker and the Strathmore had much better results. Maybe a ghost of a line through the 140# paper... while the markers showed up strong on the backside of the M. paper. I have to say I don't use a lot of either of those markers in my books. I love gel pens and Pitt pens and SU markers and tombo's and glaze pens.... I use a little bit of everything! Thanks for the thought provoking questions! :)

  6. That is very helpful. I find the 140 lb paper can take just about anything. I do like to use watercolor at times in my journal. I have had trouble with gel pens skiping. but maybe I am not using a good quality.
    Thank you for you help.
If you ever have an online class I will be one of the first to sign up. Hope you do sometime!

  7. Your journal is, well, unbelievably amazingly fantastic. I could flip through these pages over and over again.
