I have to say how much I love following you. I don't comment too much but had to for this post. First, I love Klimt and your PL pages. Great use and patterns you did. Now, the quilt! Amazing! I always loved this type quilt but you stepped it up to a new high. The colors are fabulous and it is so whimsical. In my humble opinion, one of my favorites and best of class! Just hat to get that out. Love your works of beauty.
What an amazing quilt!! The motifs, colors, beautifully done appliqué and quilting--all of it, stunning! I just want to touch every single piece! Can you tell me about the fabric you used for some of the appliqué pieces? Particularly Mr. Elephant, the purple flower, and the blue birds? They look so soft.
Thanks Lisa. This was a customer's quilt...she put the top together, did the stitching and appliqueing... then sent me to top and backing fabrics. Then I did my quilting zing to it and voila...a finished quilt top! The quilt is mostly hand dyed wool fabric with a little bit of cotton prints added. Check out suespargo.com for the pattern and others like it! Thanks for the compliments!
Janet - I thoroughly enjoy your blog and am so appreciative of your willingness to share. You inspire me to put pen to paper or needle to fabric every day and feed my own creativity - thank you! Your machine quilting is stunning as well, and I'd be interested in talking with you about quilting my Bird Dance when I'm finished. Do you take on new clients? All the best to you!
