StencilGirl Meets Verday

One of the perks of being on the StencilGirl Creative Team
is that I am sent some fabulous products to try out along with stencils.

are more fun to play with than I ever could have imagined!

I ended up with those great books in the top photo....
But here is some of my experimentation along the way....

I watched some YouTube videos from the fun girls at Ten Second Studio to begin with.
I started with some cardboard box pieces in manageable sizes,
and painted them with some great DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics.

I used the big X-12 Stencil by Terri Stegmiller on the base.
I followed the directions and sprayed the patina over the iron metalized paint
and it turned that nice rusty orange.
 Oh Wow!
Then topped it with Michelle Ward's
Damask Medium Stencil...one of my favorites.

Love this!

Here's the X-12 Stencil, then the Medium Damask Stencil, & the X-12 Stencil again.

Wow!
I am really partial to blues... I love this!
I added Rae Missigman's Repetition Stencil as texture with the X-12.
I love layers!

And then another with some turquoise paints....
I used Nathalie Kalbach's Crackle Stencil
under the X-12 here for even more texture.

 LOVE!!!

Okay, can you see I have book making on my mind here?
Two of everything!

So on to my finished project...
I started with each of the metalized paints as the base coat and then
proceeded with experimentation from there.....

Here is how they ended up...

These four were bound into little books...
I even covered the book tape bindings in the VerDay Paints.
Since they can go on fabric I figured I'd give it a try.

Every surface was sprayed with a fixative
and then covered in Mod Podge for a smooth clean finish.

I really loved this project and the fun that went with it.
Thanks to the gals at Ten Seconds Studio for the opportunity to play!
