StencilGirl Hop With Walnut Hollow

Go check out the Walnut Hollow's website.
They have a huge variety of products for artists and crafters!
I chose some 10" Shadow Panels to work with.
I emphasized the little spoked wheel from Kae Pea's Midcentury Modern
along with Mary Beth Shaw's Mini Basket Weave Stencil.
I used a heavy gesso through the stencils as a surface to work on.
There's lots of layers in these pieces, lots of texture.

I had a bathroom wall in mind when I chose colors.
Supplies I used (besides the shadow panel and stencils listed)
were Gesso, Acrylic paints, Stamps and Stazon Ink Stamp Pads,
Tissue paper, a metallic gel pen, SU Stampin' Ink (for drippage),
Matte Finish Spray Fixative and Mod Podge.

Of course one was not enough for me,
I wanted a pair for my wall!
I went with.... Similar..... But not exactly the same.

Stencils used on this piece are the Mini Basket Weave Stencil
and Michelle Ward's Intersections Small Stencil.
There ARE the spoked wheels on this one, too, just not emphasized.

I love how they turned out.
There are things I would do differently.
But it was fun.

Here is what I really learned from this project:
Drippage makes my heart sing!
Yes! Drippage!!!

Happy Arting Everyone!

Check out what is going on over on the Walnut Hollow Blog too!
As Usual, there is a Giveaway of products from both
StencilGirl and Walnut Hollow.
Enter comments on each different hop artist's blog for more chances.
Entries close on Sunday, March 2 at 11:59 pm Central Time.
Have Fun Hopping!

  58. Stunner! This is a beautiful piece and much more gallery-appropriate than bathroom wall, unless the bathroom is in the Louvre.
