StencilGirl Meets Emerald Creek

Hello and Welcome
to Day 3 of StencilGirl's Blog Hop with Emerald Creek.
What a great match up!
I like to give any product I am sent a thorough testing.
Which means I try a lot of things and make a lot of mess!

Embossing Powders for me to play with.

Here is one of my favorites from these last few weeks.

on a torn out sheet of sketchbook paper...
which I mounted on top of a black covered journal.

Simple and Masculine.

My second project started out with glass bead gel.
I wanted to see the depth and texture with the embossing powders.
Fun!

I used the bee from the Fly Away Home Stencil.

I love how this little bee turned out!

This next one began on a little 3"x 5" canvas.
I used Dirty Sand Baked Texture in the middle.
The Patina Oxide and Deep Sea Baked Textures are on the sides.

Many layers later....
and some chipboard...
and some paint....

I love it!

which just melted into the background
but left a hint of texture on the edge of the canvas...
and the Journal Texture #1 Stencil on the chipboard.

It's perfect hanging on my art room wall.

My last two practice pieces aren't included in any journals or projects yet.
Maybe they'll be a tip-in flap for a future week in my planner...
or an ATC base... or a bookmark... or something?

I love these blues.

And how about this Boho Butterfly!
The Deep Sea Baked Texture is the outline
and I painted and shaded the wing colors with a variety of mediums.

Thanks for visiting today.

StencilGirl and ReSketch

Happy Earth Day!
Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. Rethink. Right?
Each team member was sent two ReSketch journals to play in.
Blank pages! What fun!

I started out playing with the little journal covers and went from there.

I decided to make a little traveler's type of notebook cover
to hold the two ReSketch journals.
The outside cover is Tangerine Kraft-Tex Paper leftover from a previous hop.
I sewed canvas paper to the inside cover.

I used my own Curlicue Wide Borders on the outside covers.
I stenciled it lightly with white gesso
and used Acrylic Paint Pens to color it.
I embellished the loopy loops into flowers
and made a nice graphic cover design.

To construct the dori....
I used notes from a class I had taken on making an Artsy Dori.
Not quite like the original but I love how it turned out!
I decided to start the new year with gratitude and positive affirmations.
So I filled the pages.... alphabetically? LOL

I love that little pink scribbly design (March 2015 Stencil Kit (4" x 4"stencil)).

There you go! That was fun!
I love my little dori!

Fun Snowman Banner with a Stencil

Hello Stencil Lover's!
Here's a fun little winter project for you!

The happiest thing about snow is snowmen.
In Particular, THIS Snowman, from StencilGirl Products.

I wanted to make a winter banner so I started
with a pale blue cardstock and a plan.
I repeated the snowman and snowflakes on several sheets of cardstock
with ink, paint, markers and Liquid Pearls.

I cut out the banner shape leaving room for a fold over space.
I glued each banner flag over a length of twine
and tied lace and ribbon in between for fun and texture.

No snow in my yard yet...but I'm ready!

My grand babies will love it!

There you have it!
